More than £100,000 of funding has been added to Richmond Council’s Coldbusters winter warming fund.

Vulnerable Richmond residents will be able to access part of the £137,000 of extra funding to go toward the cost of installing central heating systems, new boilers, heating controls and loft and cavity insulation, into the homes of those needing it most.

Councillor Nicola Urquhart, Richmond’s cabinet member for adult services and housing, said: “This extra funding will go towards insulating homes, combating fuel poverty and keeping our elderly residents warm over this incredibly cold snap we have been experiencing.”

Coldbusters is available to residents who receive means-tested benefits, disability related benefits or are 60 and over with low income. To check eligibility for Coldbusters grants call 0800 3586668.
