Woman hospitalised in one of three crashes this morning

A woman has suffered head injuries after being hit by a Tesco lorry this morning in Chertsey Road.

The incident was one of three crashes within three hours in Chertsey Road, between Hospital Bridge roundabout and Richmond Circus.

The lorry was travelling toward Richmond Circus at the time of the incident and reportedly hit the pedestrian just before 10.40am.

London Air Ambulance attended the scene along with an ambulance crew, and two single responder cars from London Ambulance Service (LAS).

An LAS spokesman said: “A 28-year-old woman who had suffered a head injury was given pain relief at the scene and then taken to St Mary’s Hospital as a priority.”

LAS could not confirm the condition of the driver of the vehicle, but it was believed they are OK.

Another crash, further down the road, occurred just before 7.10am and involved a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Great Chertsey Road, near Churchfields Avenue.

Also at 7.15am, an ambulance crew and a single responder car attended a crash between a motorcycle and car on Hospital Bridge roundabout.

Nobody was injured in either crash.
